Some cenotes are big open pools of water, some are well-types with a cave system. This one, Noc-ac, is a partial well type. The water was clear and turquoise and nobody was able to touch bottom. It was clean as could be and in the hidden depths of the cave could have been miles of underground tunnels. Mostly we hung out in the lit up part of it. It was not cold and as soon as you jumped in you were used to the temperature. Some of us were much braver than others and jumped in from the top! It was a bit dicey getting out as the "ladder" was what one could only describe as rickety. We had a lot of fun, however, and I for one want to find a much bigger cenote to swim around in.
